Brewed by Herzoglich Bayerisches Brauhaus Tegernsee in Tegernsee, Bavaria, Germany, Tegernseer 1806 Max I. Joseph is a 5.2% Export Lager originally created to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Kingdom of Bavaria. Brewed according to the Bavarian Purity Law, it pours a clear golden colour with a fuller malt character than a typical Helles, balanced by fresh hop notes, gentle bitterness and a clean, lightly grassy finish. Crisp and highly drinkable while retaining the extra body associated with the Export style, it is a classic expression of traditional Bavarian lager brewing.
