Brewed by Brouwerij St. Bernardus in Watou, West Flanders, Belgium, St. Bernardus Prior 8 is a Belgian Dubbel brewed in traditional abbey style. Based on an original recipe dating back to the period when the brewery brewed under licence from 1946 to 1992, this chestnut-brown ale shows a deep red glow and a rounded head. It offers a fruity aroma reminiscent of red apples with exotic touches of figs and dates, supported by impressions of caramel and roasted malt. Full-bodied and balanced, the flavour brings together malt sweetness and dark fruit richness with a harmonious interplay of bitter and sweet.
